What is a Merchant Account?

Any business owner who accepts payment in exchange for goods or services is referred to as a merchant. The account a business owner obtains to accept credit card payment and debit card payment is referred to as a merchant account. In order for a business to process credit cards, they must obtain a merchant account from a merchant account provider. It is essential to have a merchant account if they are going to start to accept credit cards. A merchant account allows you to increase your sales, track your customers and help build a loyal customer base.

Retail Merchant Accounts:

Accept credit card payment has become a necessity if you are doing business face to face. Credit card payment is an important part of your business without considering whether you are a small retail business with sales of two-thousand dollars monthly or a large retail location with sales in the millions each month.

MerchantGuy.com customizes retail credit card processing solutions to your personal business needs. Our credit card processing solutions keep your rates low without compromising our ability to provide you with excellent customer service. Setting up a merchant account with us ensures that your business is utilizing the most secure, advanced and reliable processing networks available to merchants.

Credit Card Processing Equipment:

In addition to setting up a merchant account a business needs credit card processing equipment (hardware or software) to electronically submit transactions for authorization and settlement to the back-end processor. The most common solution for a retail business is credit card processing equipment that allows a card to be swiped at the retail location. We are a great place to find the most suitable credit card processing equipment you need to accept credit cards. We sell all processing equipment at cost when signing up for a merchant account.

Many new businesses do not require equipment. Some just need a way to process a transaction from a smartphone or from a tablet. We are able to work with these devices as well.

While many existing businesses have existing hardware we can more than likely reprogram your existing hardware and software that you already have to help reduce cost. If you do what to know what terminals we do support just contact us directly and we will let you know if we support what you have in place now.

QSR for Merchants and what is it?

Many people have seen this a local convenience store where if your purchase is under $25 a signature is not required. We are able to set your business with this ability. This helps reduce the sale time and allows your staff to move on to the next customer standing in line. This helps increase sales along with the customer experience by reducing the time your customers are standing in line waiting to pay.

Notes about QSR:

  • Merchants with small average tickets are applicable for the QSR program.
  • QSR allows merchants to forego obtaining a cardholder signature on transactions under $25.
  • Merchant cannot participate in QSR if they wish to accept tips on their credit card transactions.
